Btw, i have this movie with me, if u cant find it, i can share it with u. マリと子犬の物語 Mari to Koinu no Monogatari A Tale of Mari and Three Puppies
On the fateful morning of October 23, 2004, a dog named Mari gave birth to three puppies in Yamakoshi Village, Niigata Prefecture, Japan. That evening, a severe earthquake struck Niigata and devastated the Village, causing almost all of its homes to collapse, including the one where Mari lived. During the quake the newborn puppies were jolted away from their mother, and since their eyes were still closed, they could not find their way back to her side. Also, because she was bound by a leash, Mari could not reach her babies. She tried repeatedly to pull free from the leash, but to no avail. Then, several tremors occurred and Mari tried even harder to break free until her neck began to bleed. Suddenly, another strong aftershock struck, Mari struggled with all her might, and the collar suddenly came loose. Next she quickly picked up her puppies, moved them to a safe place, and without taking a rest ran toward the ruins that were once her house.
Courageous rescue of grandfather
The grandfather of Mari’s family was home alone that day. He lived on the second floor, but suffered from a neurological disorder that made it impossible for him to stand on his feet or climb the stairs unassisted. After the earthquake, the old man was immobilized as he had been trapped beneath a wardrobe. Aftershocks and the total darkness resulting from a power outage pushed him into desperately thinking that death might be around the corner. Just then, Mari appeared in his room on the second floor and looked at him with encouraging eyes. The grandfather had been slipping into unconsciousness, but when he saw Mari he regained awareness although he was still immobilized. Mari then licked him to give him encouragement and went downstairs several times to check on her pups before quickly returning to the man’s room. She ran back and forth many times even though her paws had been injured by the sharp-edged glass and pieces of porcelain that lay all over the floor. Each trip gave her new wounds, but Mari managed to kindle new hope in the grandfather’s heart, and looking at Mari he thought, “I must live on. I cannot give up,” Finally, he pushed at the wardrobe with all his strength, it gave way and he managed to free himself. Then with Mari's encouragement, the grandfather spent two hours climbing down the stairs—a feat he had previously been unable to accomplish without help. Upon reaching the ground floor, he was happy to find that the three puppies were safe and sound.
A sad parting and further ordeals
After the October 23, 2004 earthquake Yamakoshi Village was in a state of total destruction and isolation as all local roads had been cut off. And with a continuous series of aftershocks increasing the danger of landslides, on October 25 all the villagers were evacuated by helicopter to a nearby accommodation center. Under these circumstances, the grandfather was forced to leave Mari behind for in times of disaster saving human lives is the main concern. He left all of his pet food for his beloved dog, prayed that she and her pups would be safe and took off her collar. Then, with no other options, as he boarded the helicopter to leave behind the one who had saved his life, he said with guilt and sadness, "I’m very sorry, Mari," and felt heart-broken as Mari howled in deep sorrow.
As time passed and her supply of rations ran out, Mari had to search for food in her abandoned village, suffering many ordeals as she tried to protect her little puppies. All the while the grandfather thought of her constantly, and with anxiety over the continuing tremors fell ill and had to be hospitalized. Then two weeks after the evacuation, the villagers were allowed to return to Yamakoshi to see their homes. Among the returnees was the man’s son, who immediately began to search for Mari. Upon finding her, he noticed that she was much thinner, and she hesitated for an instant after hearing her name but then dashed toward him. He held her close in his arms for a long time. Mari had not had enough food for herself, but she fed her babies milk and took care of them as well as she could. In contrast to their skinny mother, the three puppies looked chubby and healthy as they slept sweetly on the porch. The son was delighted to see the little pups growing up in good health.
Before Yamakoshi Village was reconstructed, the villagers remained in temporary housing in a neighboring city. Being in charge of advertising affairs for the village committee, the son was a busy man so he placed Mari and her puppies in the care of another family. When the grandfather was still in the hospital, Mari's caretaker took her to visit him. Thus, after undergoing countless trials, Mari and the old man were finally reunited. Mari was very happy to see the man, who was recuperating and said with quivering lips and tears filling his eyes, "Thank you for saving my life."
Then in April 2005 the grandfather was discharged from the hospital and began living with his son and Mari in an apartment. By that time Mari's three puppies had been adopted by other families and were growing up healthily in their new homes. Today, the grandfather and his family are still living in the apartment but look forward to returning soon to Yamakoshi Village. Fireworks for Mari
Mari’s touching story, which illustrates the mutual trust and love between humans and animals that helps them through ordeals, has frequently been reported in the news media and has also been adapted as an illustrated storybook — Mari of Yamakoshi Village and Her Three Pups. The book has received a huge response in Japan and serves as a great inspiration for disaster victims. The company that published the volume is contributing part of its sales revenues to the reconstruction and relief funds for areas affected by the October 2004 earthquake, and distributes the book free of charge to children in Yamakoshi Village and its thirteen neighboring cities.
On August 2, 2005, the villagers held a fireworks celebration in their city of refuge just as they do in their home town each year, and this year event was entitled “Fireworks for Mari.” While participating in the festivity they wished that Yamakoshi Village could be recovered as quickly as possible. Amid the dazzling light and smoke of the fireworks, Mari's radiant smile seemed to fill the night sky, bringing hope and encouragement to the spectators.

Evan Almighty is a 2007 comedy film, and sequel to the 2003 film Bruce Almighty reprising his role as . It was directed by Tom Shadyac and stars Steve Carell, and Lauren Graham, with Morgan FreemanGod. Evan Almighty was released in cinemas on June 22, 2007.
Plot: Behind and shepherds his family to Newly elected to Congress, former local TV newsman Evan Baxter (Steve Carell) leaves Buffalosuburban northern Virginia. His congressional campaign declared that he would change the world, but he never stated how. Once he reaches his new home and job, strange things start to happen. Animals (all different kinds of animals) start following Evan around.
He grows a beard that won't go away no matter how many times he shaves. Eight vacant lots in Evan's neighborhood are purchased in Evan's name. Stone age tools and wood planks are sent to his house. And the number 614 appears everywhere he goes. Evan soon learns that the number is a verse in the Bible. In the book of Genesis,
6:14 is the verse in which God instructs Noah to build the ark
Soon after, God (Morgan Freeman) appears and mysteriously commands him to build an ark because a flood is coming. His family comes to believe he is having an extraordinary mid-life crisis, but soon thinks he is truly onto something of Biblical proportions. God tells Evan the flood will come September 22 mid-day.
Animals start following Evan to Congress causing him to eventually be suspended by Congressman Long (John Goodman) from work after he tells everyone that God told him to build an ark. His wife Joan and his three sons leave for her mother's house after seeing it on a news report, leaving him to build the ark himself, which gains international notice. Weeks after Joan leaves Evan, God appears to her as a waiter at a diner. He tells her that
God doesn't give things, he gives the opportunity to get things.
For example, God doesn't give a family togetherness, he gives the opportunity for families to be together. Seeing his meaning, Joan returns to Evan to finish the ark together. Evan's old colleagues tell him that Congressman Long built a dam over a nearby lake and cut corners to save businesses money.
September 22 comes with clear skies, and Evan loads the hundreds of animals onto the newly finished ark in front of live news crews and nearby citizens. Minutes pass with clear skies, so spectators start jeering at him. Dark clouds appear and rain starts pouring down. Evan tells everyone to board the ark but no one listens. The rain suddenly stops and everyone starts laughing at Evan. Evan thinks it's over until the poorly built dam bursts. Panic overtakes everyone and they board the ark. The ark sails down the streets of Washington D.C. from the flooded water of the burst lake until it eventually lands several feet from the Capitol. Evan tells Long that the flood was caused by his poorly made dam, which incites the other congressmen present to turn on him.
Evan and his family go on ahiking trip over the weekend and God reappears to Evan, telling him that the way to change the world is by doing one Act of Random Kindness ("ARK") after another.
Watched this animation after surf's up. Sponsored by Mr Jeremy Tai too! Thanks heaps! Kinda like it, about back 2 da future thingy. Like it!!!!!!
Meet the Robinsons is a computer-animated film and the 46th animated feature produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures.
Plot: The movie opens with a woman approaching an orphanage at night in the rain, holding her baby. On the orphanage steps, she kisses her baby and then puts it down, but suddenly looks up as if she’s heard a noise. Mildred, the head of the orphanage, answers a knock at the door and finds the baby.
As years go by, Lewis, the baby, has apparently become an avid inventor and is actually a genius – he teaches a class and takes college classes.
His roommate, “Goob”, is tiredly helping Lewis make yet another invention in his room.
Lewis is always building and keeps Goob up every night, which makes Goob’s little league baseball career suffer. Mildred comes to the room and tells Lewis that there is another family coming to adopt him. During the meeting, Lewis tries to show off his invention, a machine to automatically make the perfect PB&J. However, it explodes and the family leaves in a huff.
Mildred finds Lewis on the roof where he always goes to think, and when Lewis says that no one, not even his own mother, wants him. Mildred tells Lewis that he doesn't know if that's true and that it's possible that his mother wanted to keep him and couldn't. Lewis gets an inspiration:
he’ll invent a machine to look back into his memories and see his mother
Lewis invents this machine over the next couple of days and Goob is unable to sleep. He complains to Mildred about this and says that he won’t be able to keep awake during the baseball game. Lewis heads to the school science fair, telling Mildred that he’s given up on being adopted and will only settle for his real family.
A hyperactive judge named Dr. Krunklehorn is looking at all the science experiments along with science teacher Mr. Willerstein.
Lewis is approached by a thirteen-year-old boy named Wilbur Robinson who claims he is a time cop from the future and that a man with a bowler hat stole a time machine, came to this time, and is after Lewis.
Lewis doesn’t believe him and Wilbur gets distracted, allowing Lewis to set up. However, the sinister Bowler Hat Man
lurks in the shadows nearby and sends Doris, a robotic hat with mechanical arms, to sabotage Lewis’s machine. As Lewis begins demonstrating the machine,
Wilbur spots the bowler hat and tries to stop Lewis but the machine explodes and the science fair is in chaos. Lewis runs out and leaves his machine, which the Bowler Hat Man steals.
At the orphanage, Lewis goes up on the roof, crushed. Wilbur appears and tells Lewis to go back to the science fair and fix the machine, but Lewis refuses. Lewis then says that if Wilbur can prove he’s from the future, Lewis will go back to the science fair and fix the machine. Wilbur agrees then pushes Lewis off the roof onto an invisible flying time machine, and uses it to take them to the future.
Soaring through a world of flying cars, clean cities, robots, and machines, Lewis finally believes Wilbur. But Lewis then says that he wants Wilbur to use the time machine to take him back to the day he was left at the orphanage so he can stop his mother from leaving him. When Wilbur refuses, Lewis grabs the steering wheel and causes the machine to crash. Wilbur is devastated and explains that there are only two time machines in existence, both made by Wilbur’s dad, and now one is destroyed while the Bowler Hat Man has the other. The two make a deal:
if Lewis fixes the time machine, Wilbur will use it to take him back to see his mother.
They smuggle the machine into Wilbur’s garage where Carl, the neurotic family robot, yells at Wilbur.
They tell Lewis to not leave the garage and hide his hair under a hat covered in fruit and tell him to fix the machine before Wilbur’s father returns in the morning. In private, Carl says that Wilbur shouldn’t have brought Lewis back, and that because he did there is a break in time and Wilbur could be erased. Downstairs, Lewis accidentally steps into an elevator and gets transported out of the house.
Back in the past, the Bowler Hat Man is talking with his hat, Doris. The two plan to take credit for inventing the memory machine, one of the things to do on Bowler Hat Man’s written checklist. That also includes:
steal a time machine,
steal an invention, and
pretend that he invented it.
However, because he doesn't know how to use the machine, Bowler Hat Man is thrown out on his face. Bowler Hat Man goes to Lewis’s room to kidnap him (another on his list of things to do) but finds an injured Goob there instead. He fell asleep during the baseball game while on the field, which cost them the game, and the kids on his team beat him up for it, though the coach assured him to let it go. Bowler Hat Man gets very emotional and gives Goob a speech about holding the sadness inside and converting it to rage. On the roof, Doris finds traces of Wilbur’s time machine and the two head to the future to track down Lewis.
Meanwhile, Lewis is wandering around the Robinson house. He meets Lefty, the octopus butler, Two very odd twins named Spike and Dimitri (who live in flower pots and own the doorbells and have a doorbell ringing competition) and Grandpa Bud, a crazy old man looking for his dentures and wearing his clothes backwards.
Bud takes Lewis on a tour of the house while Wilbur goes on a frantic search for them. In the house, Lewis meets Uncle Gaston, shooting himself from a cannon to race Aunt Billie’s life-size toy train, Cousin Tallulah, wearing a skyscraper dress, who is fighting with her brother Laszlo, flying around on a jetpack and painting the walls, Billy’s husband, the obese Uncle Joe, who sits in his chair all day, Uncle Art delivering pizzas in a flying saucer like a superhero, Bud’s wife, Lucille, who dances to disco music, and Uncle Fritz, a spacey middle-aged guy, who argues with his wife – a ventriloquist puppet named Petunia.
Finally, Lewis meets Wilbur’s friendly mother, Franny,
conducting her frog jazz band.
The lead frog, Frankie, is wearing Bud’s teeth.
The entire family loves Lewis, but Wilbur sneaks in and takes him downstairs. Wilbur’s father is a master inventor and invented practically everything, coining the motto
“Keep moving forward”
Lewis attempts to fix the time machine but it breaks again.
Meanwhile, Bowler Hat Man and Doris try to sneak into the house. Doris spawns a miniature bowler hat which the Bowler Hat Man controls. Mini-Doris finds and takes control of Frankie.
During dinner, Lewis pretends to be an exchange student from Canada. Franny is extremely nice and Lewis finds himself loving everyone very much, but when Franny goes to remove Lewis’s hat, Wilbur initiates a kung-fu style meatball fight between Franny and Gaston. Lewis says that he is an orphan and wishes that he had a family like the Robinsons.
For dessert, Carl is about to serve PB&J sandwiches with a machine similar to the one Lewis made earlier. When it breaks, Wilbur decides to get Lewis to fix it to raise his confidence, but Lewis fails – and the entire family applauds the failure, saying that a failure means you can try again. Frankie enters, but he is just a small frog and can’t seize Lewis. Bowler Hat Man gets rid of Frankie and sees a hedge shaped like a T-Rex in the garden. He takes the time machine back to the past and returns with a real one. The entire family attempts to stop the T-Rex,
but it turns the tables and corners Wilbur and Lewis. The T-Rex is about to eat Wilbur but Lewis throws a shovel in his mouth to stop him.
Everyone is now slightly injured but also in love with Lewis. Wilbur is worried, and Lewis thanks everyone. But when says he has to go, Franny breaks down and says that she wants to adopt Lewis . Wilbur quickly knocks Lewis’s hat off and when everyone sees his hair, they are horrified. Franny takes back her adoption offer at once and says Lewis has to go. Wilbur explains the situation with the time machines and also blurts out that he never meant to take Lewis back to his mother. Lewis runs away, saying he won’t trust the Robinsons ever again. Everyone is furious with Wilbur, including Franny, who says that he is "grounded until he dies". Lewis is approached by the Bowler Hat Man and Doris and told that if he fixes the memory machine, they’ll take him to see his mother. Wilbur tries to stop him but Lewis, still angry with him, flies off with Bowler Hat Man.
In a dark room somewhere, Lewis repairs the memory machine and explains how to use it. He is then tied up by Doris and Bowler Hat Man turns on the lights – they are in Lewis’s old room at the orphanage. Bowler Hat Man reveals that he is in fact Goob. After Goob lost his baseball game, he went into long-term depression and remained an orphan. Over the years, Goob decided that his bad life was Lewis’s fault. At the same time, Wilbur’s father invented Doris but Doris malfunctioned so he shut her down. Doris escaped and found Goob. The two of them then decided to steal Mr. Robinson’s time machine and go back in time to steal Lewis’s first working machine. Lewis suddenly figures out why they are attacking him to hurt Mr. Robinson – Lewis IS Mr. Robinson. This is why Franny recognized him and said that he had to go back to the past and also why Wilbur believes Lewis can fix the time machine. If Lewis doesn’t invent the memory machine, the future will be destroyed. Lewis realizes that by not letting go of the past and not looking towards the future, Goob’s anger destroyed him; the same way Lewis was letting his anger about his mother ruin his own life.
Carl and Wilbur arrive at the orphanage and rescue Lewis and the memory machine. Lewis then tells Wilbur that he knows that he is Wilbur's father. They are friends again but just as they reach the Robinson house, Doris shows up and attacks Carl. Bowler Hat Man steals the memory machine and goes back to the past. Bowler Hat Man manages to successfully demonstrate the memory machine. The time line is broken and Wilbur is suddenly sucked out of existence. The future is radically changed and Lewis finds the Robinson house empty. On a television screen, Lewis sees that after taking the credit for the memory machine, Bowler Hat Man mass produces Doris. The Doris hats then destroy the cities, enslave all of humanity, and Doris attacks Goob.
Possessed by Doris hats, the Robinsons appear and attack Lewis. Lewis climbs into the time machine as the family tries to push it off a ledge. Lewis suddenly figures out how to fix the machine and flies away, but the entire Robinson house, now a giant Doris, chases after him. Millions of Doris robots also chase after him. Cornered by the Robinsons, Lewis angrily says
I wish I’d never invented that stupid hat!
He suddenly realizes what to do and flies into the past to the boardroom where Goob is about to take credit for Lewis’s invention. Lewis tells Bowler Hat Man about Doris' plan and Doris lunges at Lewis. However, Lewis looks at her and says
I’m never going to invent you.
Doris dissolves into nothingness.
Taking Bowler Hat Man with him, Lewis returns to the future and sees it rebuilding itself. The Robinsons are restored and Wilbur and Carl are restored. Lewis explains and tells Wilbur to adopt Bowler Hat Man, but Bowler Hat Man is gone. Lewis looks down and sees Bowler Hat Man’s checklist with all the previous objectives crossed out, but there is a new entry, a question mark.
Lewis reunites with the Robinsons. He is happy to have found his family at last. And Lewis' future self, Cornelius returns. He takes Lewis to his lab and we see the tremendous success Lewis will become. Lewis climbs back into the time machine with Wilbur and promises to make things right. He says goodbye to the Robinsons, but Wilbur goes to the night Lewis' mother left him at the orphanage. He gets out of the time machine and is about to talk to his mother as she puts the baby down, but stops, realizing that he already has a family. He slips on the stairs and hides – that moment during the opening when the mother thought she heard a noise. The mother leaves and Lewis knocks on the door of the orphanage.
Lewis returns to the day of the science fair and says goodbye (with a big loving hug) to Wilbur, but says that he will never forget him. Wilbur jokingly tells Lewis that he’ll will keep coming back until he gets things right. On the way to the science fair, Lewis stops by Goob’s baseball game and wakes him up in time to catch the final out and preserve the win for his team. Goob's a hero. At the fair, Lewis demonstrates his machine to Dr. Krunklehorn again, but this time it works. Images are displayed of her wedding – to Bud. Lewis realizes that Lucille is Dr. Krunklehorn in the future, his adoptive mother. At the same time he bumps into a young Franny, who says that she is training her frogs to sing but no one believes she’ll do it. A young Uncle Gaston asks Lewis if he can write a story about him.
Everything is now fixed. Lewis is adopted by Lucille and Bud and leaves Mildred and Goob, now a good friend (who is about to get adopted himself) at the orphanage. They move into a large observatory which will one day be the Robinson residence. Lewis sees the empty room that will be filled with all his inventions and gets to work building the robot that will one day be Carl.
Watched this animation few weeks ago. Movie sponsored by Mr Jeremy Tai. Ermm... Any comment bout this animation? Ermm... So so....
Really not that amaze especially after you watched Ratatouille. Although they purposely add in few cute characters. But yet.... Still cant convince me. Its like a documentary, keep on talking and talking.
Maybe it meant to be for adults, not a kids' animation? Hmm... Jz not my cuppa tea.
Surf's Up is an American computer-animated mockumentary film produced by Sony Pictures Animation, released on June 7, 2007 by Columbia Pictures.
Plot:
A documentary crew follows the events of Cody Maverick a small rockhopper penguin residing in Shiverpool, Antarctica (a pun on Liverpool, England). After a visit from surf legend Zeke "Big Z" Topanga, young Cody aspires to emulate the renowned legend by becoming a famous and respected surfer.
Eventually, talent scout Mikey Abromowitz arrives in Shiverpool to look for surfers to compete in the Big Z Memorial Surf Contest. Cody joins the group and befriends Chicken Joe, an easy-going surfer from Wisconsin. Upon arrival, Cody has an altercation with the egotistical Tank "The Shredder" Evans, a large muscular penguin and nine time winner of the Big Z Competition when he witnesses him hurling stones at Big Z's memorial shrine. He also meets a kind lifeguard named Lani Aliikai, with whom he falls in love with at first sight, when she saves a baby penguin from drowning. Tank challenges Cody to a surf-off on the spot and Cody's arrogance leads to a terrible wipeout. Lani Aliikai takes an injured Cody to the hidden home of Geek, a hermit, in order to help Cody recuperate from his fall. He had stepped on one of the poisonous reef inhabitants and Geek had pulled it out and urinated on Cody's foot in order to prevent him from dying.
Eventually Cody wakes up and tells Geek about big Z though Geek doesn't seem too interested. He shows Cody the route back to the beach when Geek sees a log of which all the best surfboards are made of. He tries to teach Cody how to make a surfboard and Cody got too eager therefore ruined his laughable idea of surfboard. Geek and Cody stumble upon an undiscovered, uninhabited beach and find Big Z's old shack and surfboards. Cody soon realises that Geek is Big Z. At first Big Z does not want to help Cody win the competition but then teaches him how to have fun therefore learning the meaning of surfing - just having fun.
Cody then asks Geek/Big Z to come and watch him surf in the Big Z memorial surf competition. Geek took it the wrong way and Cody and Big Z are no longer friends. Cody walks to the beach through the forest and is caught in a trap by cannibals of Pen Gu island. However Chicken Joe, who had been looking for Cody had befriended and learnt to communicate with the Pen Guins and then retrieves Cody just in time for the Surf Off.
The first wave leaves only Tank, Cody and Chicken Joe afloat and the second wipes out Tank. Tank floats to the surface of the water and tries to take out Chicken Joe while Cody has an opportunity to win, which he does not take so that he saves Chicken Joe therefore Joe won. While trying to swim back to shore another huge wave pushes Cody and Tank to "The Boneyard" the most dangerous part of the beach's water and Tank is knocked out cold. Lani rescues Tank and brings him to shore while Cody hangs on to one of the many jagged rocks. Big Z appears and rescues Cody and they paddle safely to shore. Z is then revealed to still be alive to the curious onlookers. After standing up to Reggie, Z invites everyone to the Northern side of the island where the film ends with Big Z, Cody, Lani, and many others surfing the waves as the sun sets.

Ratatouille (IPA pronunciation: /ˌɹætəˈtui, -ˈtwi/; French: /ʁataˈtuj/[2]) is a 2007 animated feature film produced by Pixar and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. It tells the story of Rémy (voiced by Patton Oswalt), a rat living in Paris who wants to be a chef. The film was directed by Brad Bird, who took over from Jan Pinkava in 2005, and it was released on June 29, 2007 in the United States.
The Plot:
Rémy (Patton Oswalt) lives in a rat colony in the attic of a French country home with his brother Émile (Peter Sohn) and father Django (Brian Dennehy).
Inspired by France's recently deceased top chef, Auguste Gusteau (Brad Garrett), Rémy tries to live the life of a gourmet. Not appreciating his talents, his clan puts him to work sniffing for rat poison in their food.
Rémy and the rats flee the house when the resident, an old woman, discovers the colony. Rémy, separated from the others, floats in the storm drains to Paris on a cookbook by Gusteau, following the chef's image to his namesake restaurant, now run by former sous-chef Skinner (Ian Holm).
As Rémy watches from a skylight a young man with no culinary talent, Alfredo Linguini (Lou Romano), arrives with a letter of introduction from his recently deceased mother, and is hired on to do janitorial duties. Linguini spills a pot of soup and attempts to cover up his mistake by adding random ingredients. Upset, Rémy falls into the kitchen and attempts to fix the ruined soup rather than trying to escape. Linguini catches Rémy in the act, just as Skinner catches Linguini. In the confusion some of the soup has been served. To everyone's surprise, the soup is a success.
The kitchen's sole woman cook, Colette (Janeane Garofalo), convinces Skinner not to fire Linguini provided he can recreate the soup. Skinner orders him to take Rémy away, but he begins an alliance by which Rémy secretly directs Linguini in return for his protection. The two perfect a marionette-like arrangement by which Rémy tugs at Linguini's hair to control his movements and stays hidden under Linguini's toque blanche.
Skinner plies Linguini with vintage Château Latour in an unsuccessful attempt to discover the secret of his unexpected talents. The next morning, hung over and disheveled, Linguini nearly confides his secret to Colette. Desperately trying to stop Linguini, Rémy pulls his hair, making him fall on Colette, leading the two to kiss. They begin dating, leaving Rémy feeling abandoned. Meanwhile, Skinner learns after some sleuthing that, unknown to everyone, Linguini is in fact Gusteau's son and stands to inherit the restaurant. This would thwart Skinner's ambition to exploit Gusteau's image to market prepared frozen foods.
One night Rémy and his colony are reunited. While scrounging food Rémy discovers Gusteau's will which, after a chase by Skinner, he presents to Linguini. Linguini now owns the restaurant, fires Skinner, and becomes a rising star in the culinary world. After a falling out, Linguini decides he no longer needs Rémy, and Rémy retaliates by leading a kitchen raid for his rat colony. Linguini attempts to apologize to Rémy, only to discover and kick out his whole colony. Rémy feels guilty about hurting his friend, and refuses to join them in resuming the raid.
Things come to a head the night of a planned review by jaded food critic Anton Ego (Peter O'Toole). Linguini, unable to cook without the rat's guidance, admits his ruse to the staff when Rémy shows up, leading them all to walk out. Colette returns after thinking through Gusteau's motto, "Anyone can cook!"Django, inspired by his son's courage, returns with the entire rat colony to cook under Rémy's direction, while Linguini, discovering his true talent, waits tables on roller skates. Colette helps Rémy prepare ratatouille; Rémy's new recipe produces a dish so good that, in the climax of the film, a bite of it leads Ego to relive childhood memories of his mother. Ego asks to meet the chef but Colette insists he must wait until the rest of the diners have left. At the end of the service, Rémy and the rats are revealed. A changed man, Ego writes a glowing review, declaring that the chef at Gusteau's is the greatest chef in all of France.
In the denouement Gusteau's is closed by a health inspector, who finds the rats after being tipped off by Skinner. Ego loses his credibility and job when the public discovers he has praised a rat-infested restaurant. Everything is for the best, however; with Ego as investor and regular patron, Linguini, Colette, and Rémy open a successful new bistro called "La Ratatouille," which includes a kitchen and dining facilities for both rats and humans.
